Reaching Rome by plane:

The best way to travel to Rome is using the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, also known as Fiumicino Airport which is Italy’s largest airport, and is located at about 26 km southwest from the center of the city. To find out how to get to the City center if you are traveling from this airport, click here.

Rome also has a second airport locates at 15Km south east of Rome; the Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport which has been active since 1916, making it one of the oldest airports still operating. Since the opening of the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, the Ciampino – G. B. Pastine International Airport handles mostly Charter and executive flights. Once at the Ciampino Airport you have two main ways of reaching the city center:

♦ Taxi: There is a Taxi central located outside the airport, it will cost you between 36 and 46 Euros to reach the center of Rome depending on the travel time and luggage. Traveling time should take about 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

♦ Bus: There is a Bus service is operated by the company "Cotral". The bus stop is located outside international departure hall and you can check for routes and timetables at the Cotral Travel Planer (please enter Aeroporto Ciampino in the “From” section).

Reaching Rome by train:
